#25 – Building a Personal Brand

Aug 28, 2024 Judi-mae Alderton - Mae Day Marketing

👷🏻‍♀️🤔👷🏻‍♂️

Welcome to this week’s Wisdom Wednesday! 👋🏻 Today, I’m covering a topic that is very close to my heart and one that’s crucial for any entrepreneur or business leader: Personal Branding.

Building a personal brand alongside your business brand helps establish a unique level of trust, authenticity and a deeper connection with your audience. Whether you’re a startup founder or a seasoned professional, your personal brand can be a powerful tool in driving your business’s success.

1️⃣ Define Your Personal, Unique Value: What makes you, you? Identify your strengths, passions and the unique qualities you bring to your field and your business. This clarity will set the foundation for your personal brand and differentiate you from the competition.

2️⃣ Align Your Personal Brand with Your Business Brand: Ensure your personal values and mission reflect those of your business. Consistency in messaging between your personal and business brands helps reinforce trust and credibility.

3️⃣ Showcase Your Expertise: Share your knowledge and insights through blog posts, articles, interviews and social media updates. Positioning yourself as a thought leader not only enhances your personal brand but also elevates your business’s reputation.

4️⃣ Be Authentic: Authenticity is absolutely key to building a personal brand that resonates. Stay true to your voice and values and be honest in your interactions. Genuine connections foster long-term loyalty and build real relationships.

5️⃣ Leverage Social Media: You should absolutely use platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and / or X (Twitter) to engage with your audience. Share both personal and professional updates to humanise your personal brand and build a well-rounded online presence.

6️⃣ Network and Engage: Attend industry events, webinars and networking opportunities. Connecting with peers and potential clients can expand your influence and create valuable relationships that benefit your brand and business in the long-term.

7️⃣ Share Personal Stories: Don’t shy away from sharing your personal journey, challenges and successes. These stories can make you relatable and inspire others, enhancing your personal brand’s appeal.

8️⃣ Listen and Respond: Engage with your audience by responding to comments, messages and feedback. Active engagement shows that you clearly value your followers’ opinions and are committed to building a community, which just adds to your authenticity.

9️⃣ Maintain Professionalism: While personal branding is about authenticity, it’s essential to maintain professionalism. Ensure that your content, interactions and online presence uphold the standards you wish to be associated with your business.

🔟 Evolve Your Brand: As you grow, your personal brand should evolve too. Stay updated with industry trends, refine your skills and adapt your branding strategy to reflect your current goals and experiences.

Building a personal brand is a journey that requires consistency, boat loads of authenticity and on-brand engagement. Start investing in your personal brand today and I promise you it will elevate both you and your business! 🥰

Aug 21, 2024Aug 21, 2024 Judi-mae Alderton - Mae Day Marketing

💻🧨🖥

Welcome to this week’s Wisdom Wednesday post! This week, I wanted to cover some pointers on optimising your website for User Experience (UX) – an important way to keep your visitors happy and engaged. Optimising your site for UX can significantly boost user satisfaction and conversions.

So, as a starter – here are 10 tips to get you started:

1️⃣ Simplify Navigation: Make it easy for users to find what they need with clear, intuitive menus that don’t frustrate or confuse.

2️⃣ Prioritise Speed: Optimise images, use browser caching and consider a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to ensure fast load times.

3️⃣ Mobile Optimisation: Ensure your website is responsive and performs well on mobile devices such as phones and tablets, especially as mobile browsing is increasingly common.

4️⃣ Clear CTAs: Use bold and easily identifiable Calls-to-Action that guide users through your site and inspire them to take action or get in touch.

5️⃣ Consistent Design: Keep a consistent visual design across your website to help users feel comfortable navigating it.

6️⃣ Accessible Content: Ensure your site is accessible to all users by incorporating features like alt text for images and readable fonts.

7️⃣ Test and Iterate: Consider conducting regular A/B testing to identify what works best for your audience and refine your UX accordingly.

8️⃣ Engaging Content: Offer high-quality, relevant content that keeps users engaged and encourages them to explore further.

9️⃣ User Feedback: Gather feedback from your users to understand their pain points and make necessary adjustments.

🔟 Analyse User Behaviour: Use analytics tools to track metrics like bounce rates and session duration, adjusting your strategy over time to improve user experience.

Optimising your website’s UX is an ongoing process, but the rewards are worth it – happy users mean better engagement and ultimately, more business success!

#23 – Keyword Research for PPC

Aug 15, 2024Aug 12, 2024 Judi-mae Alderton - Mae Day Marketing

🔎🖥✍

Welcome to this week’s Wisdom Wednesday post. Today, I’m focusing on paid search and looking into the specifics of keyword research for your accounts. Setting up a successful PPC account requires careful planning and strategic execution, so take these points step by step and watch your account flourish!

1️⃣ Define Your Goals: You know how I feel about this by now! 😉 Always start any job by establishing clear objectives: for your PPC campaign, think about whether you’re doing it for increased website traffic, lead generation, boosting sales (or maybe all 3!).

2️⃣  Use Keyword Tools: Utilise tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to find relevant keywords.

3️⃣ Analyse Search Volumes: Focus on keywords with high search volume and low competition – this will give you a better chance at top positions.

4️⃣ Segment Keywords into Ad Groups: Organise your keywords into tightly themed ad groups to ensure relevancy and improve Quality Score.

5️⃣ Analyse Competitor Keywords: Identify your competitors’ top-performing keywords. This can provide insights and opportunities for your own campaigns.

6️⃣ Set Up Negative Keywords: Exclude irrelevant search terms by adding negative keywords. This prevents your ads from showing up for unrelated queries, saving budget and improving ROI.

7️⃣ Implement Conversion Tracking: Set up conversion tracking in Google Ads and Google Analytics. This helps measure the effectiveness of your PPC campaigns and allows you to make data-driven decisions.

8️⃣ Monitor and Adjust Bids: Regularly monitor your campaign performance and adjust bids based on keyword performance. Use automated bidding strategies like Target CPA or ROAS for efficiency.

9️⃣ Evaluate CPC: Consider the cost-per-click (CPC) you are happy with on an ongoing basis to ensure your keywords fit within your budget.

🔟 Analyse and Optimise: Continuously review and optimise your campaigns. Use A/B testing for ad copy and landing pages, and refine your keyword list based on performance data.

Remember, setting up and managing a successful PPC campaign involves ongoing monitoring and optimisation.
