Mae Day Marketing is owned by Judi-mae Alderton. A talented and passionate marketing professional, Judi-mae has over 20 years’ experience supporting both B2B and B2C businesses. She has a deep understanding of digital disciplines and is a well educated and experienced expert in the online space.

Judi-mae decided to set up Mae Day Marketing in 2019 out of a desire to independently offer her support to ambitious, forward thinking businesses in the UK and beyond.

A born communicator, she is dedicated and creative, strong and confident, an excellent strategist and an absolute digital marketing genius, with a very long personal history and background in digital technology and communications.

Career History

Since graduating from the University of East Anglia in 2004, Judi-mae has worked in various marketing departments throughout East Anglia. She started out as a marketing assistant for a manufacturing business, quickly redesigning their website and increasing online sales by 80%, as well as  introducing targeted mailings, giving the business instant sales lifts of up to 35%.

She introduced a digital strategy to Anglian Home Improvements, and went on to win an award for ‘Best Use of Social Media’ in 2009. That same year, her team was also nominated for another award, ‘Best Use of Search Marketing’ in marketing magazine NMA’s ‘Effectiveness Awards’.

Judi-mae studied for a digital marketing qualification at the Institute of Data & Marketing, achieving the equivalent of another Bachelor’s Degree. She became a leader in the field of client-side user experience analysis and multivariate testing and was often quoted in magazines discussing this up and coming digital technique which dynamically supported business growth.

Judi-mae was also regularly a part of online discussions about search engine optimisation and social media as it grew in popularity in the 2000s. She helped Anglian Home Improvements launch their first ever blog, which lead to a highly successful content marketing and reputation management strategy, giving a boost to their customer feedback scores and subsequently, their online sales figures.

During her time at Anglian, Internet leads doubled as a proportion of total company lead flow due to web optimisation. Judi-mae lead projects which increased the website’s conversion rate by 55% and she created an in-house website development team, removing agency dependence and lowering costs for the business.

A Change of Focus 🍺

After leaving Anglian, Judi-mae spent several years in the brewing industry, working as head of marketing for relaunched heritage brand Lacons Brewery and traditional, well established, Woodforde’s, the biggest brewery in Norfolk.

For Lacons Judi-mae created a brand growth strategy that utilised her digital skills and combined all of her experience together to propel their brand into the saturated local scene, gathering them a huge amount of digital uplift, press coverage and attention from local drinkers and publicans alike. 

Strategies included commissioning the build of a brand new website, managing successful events, supporting festivals, helping secure the stocking of new products on the local trains to London, communicating about exciting new product launches and celebrating with local businesses.

In her time at Lacons, she launched an online eCommerce function giving the business a new sales streamincreased traffic to their website by 230%reach of their online content by 864% and sales of ale increased by 40% year on year.

At Woodforde’s Brewery, a strategy was created to not only raise the profile of the brand, but reposition it within the hearts and minds of the local fan base. Judi-mae organised a press launch and the ongoing management of a commercial relationship with Norwich City Football Club, to support these objectives.

In her time at Woodforde’s, she also supported a full rebrand, created a social media and PR strategy for the business, introduced new sales collaterals and processes and made many recommendations on product development decisions based on her experience – both personal and professional – in the brewing industry.

In her 12 month tenure, she more than doubled their social media following, increased the reach of their online content by 300% and generated over 20 pieces of news coverage.

Launching a Communications Consultancy Business

After a varied and exciting career working for local brands, Judi-mae made the decision in 2019 to go solo, creating the business Mae Day Marketing 👑 Since then she has worked with dozens of clients on a wide variety of marketing and communications projects, such as her first client Brook House Hops whom she supported to raise their profits by 50%, despite the pandemic.

Multiple Award Winner

Late in 2023, Mae Day Marketing was awarded a prestigious global award – BUSINESS MARKETING CONSULTANCY OF THE YEAR in the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards.

The judges of the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards were impressed with Mae Day Marketing (and therefore Judi-mae)’s ‘community feel, personal touch and emphasis on service’. Read more about this amazing achievement.

Then, in February, Mae Day Marketing won a second award, this time in the technical field of Search Engine Optimisation. SocialAppsHQ, who picked Mae Day Marketing for the ‘Best Rated SEO Agencies in Norwich’ accolade,

In May 2024, as Judi-mae was celebrating 5 years as an independent consultant, Mae Day Marketing was recognised again, winning the ‘Digital Entrepreneur of the Year’ award form the London School of Digital Business.

A spokesperson for the LSDB, who are renowned their global focus on digital training and career acceleration, commented that Judi-mae “stood out for her innovative strategies in the digital space and dedication to advancing digital business practices.” Adding that “her journey and success serve as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring digital entrepreneurs, highlighting the endless possibilities within the digital business arena.”

In November 2024, Judi-mae acknowledged again – this time for her work in social media marketing. She was awarded the ‘Social Media Specialist of the Year’ 2024 Award by CorporateLivewire, with judges commenting that “Judi-mae’s creative approach, combined with strategic insight, empowers brands to genuinely connect with their audiences. Her skill in driving engagement and tangible growth sets Mae Day Marketing apart.”
